Upholding Marriage Principles Aids Raising Upright Children - AKHA Speaker




The Speaker, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly ( AKHA), Rt. Hon.Elder Udeme Otong, has charged newly married couples in the country to respect and uphold marriage principles for God to reign supreme in their matrimonial homes.

 Elder Otong, gave the charge today,6/8/2023 during a special Sunday service that was organized for the formal presentation of a newly married couple, Mr/ Mrs.Emmanuel John Udofia at Qua Iboe Church, Abak Itenge in Abak Local Government Area.

The Speaker, who is the Church Committee Chairman, explained that upholding marriage principles would enable couples to raise morally upright children that would in turn contribute meaningfully to the societal stability and growth.

Elder Otong, flanked his wife, Margaret, congratulated Mr/Mrs Emmanuel John Udofia for chosing to become husband and wife for them to find favour from the sight of God.

He explained that if married was not Honourable and importance, Jesus Christ could not have performed his first miracle at the marriage ceremony in Cana as recorded in the Holy Bible, describing as the right steps in the right direction, the stand being taken by Mr/Mrs Udofia to remain as husband and wife .

 The Speaker, while encouraging every member of the church to be steadfast and trust in God, specifically, urged married couples to always operate in love and in harmony with their partners to serve as good example for emulation by the younger ones in the society.

Elder.Otong, also used the occasion and thanked God for using the special prayer group of the church to turn things around for the collective good and interest of Abak Itenge people, noting with delight that God has used the prayer wing of the church for the blessing of the land.

The Superintendent of the church, Rev. Godwin Ekam, has in a sermon on "Charity work", taken from the book of 1st Corinthians chapter 13, stressed the need for people to render assistance to their fellow brothers and sisters for God to open the doors and windows of blessings to them.#####
