The Accountant-General of the Federation, Mr. Shamseldeen B. Ogunjimi, has pledged full support to the South-South Development Commission (SSDC) to ensure its smooth take-off and effective operations.
He made the commitment when the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the SSDC, Ms. Usoro Akpabio, paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja to discuss areas of collaboration and partnership between both institutions.
During the meeting, Ms. Akpabio commended the Accountant-General for the ongoing financial reforms aimed at strengthening transparency, accountability, and fiscal discipline across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
She noted that such reforms are critical to the establishment of sound financial structures within the SSDC as it begins full-scale operations.
Mr. Ogunjimi, in his response, assured that his office would provide every necessary support to the Commission, particularly in the areas of financial management, compliance, and institutional capacity building.
“The Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation will work closely with the SSDC to ensure a transparent and efficient financial system that aligns with national regulations,” he assured.
Ms. Akpabio described the engagement as a major step toward building strategic partnerships that will advance sustainable development across the South-South region.
