President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has nominated Dr. Eunice Thomas as a Commissioner in the Federal Character Commission (FCC).
Dr. Thomas, a seasoned administrator and politician, brings a wealth of experience to the role, having served in various capacities at both state and national levels. She was previously a Commissioner in the Akwa Ibom State Executive Council during the administration of former Governor Godswill Akpabio.
Until April 2025, Dr. Thomas also served on the Board of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), where she was recognized for her commitment to effective governance before the board’s dissolution by President Tinubu.
Her nomination is seen as a strategic move to bolster the FCC’s mandate of promoting equity, fairness, and inclusivity in federal appointments across Nigeria.
The appointment awaits confirmation by the Senate.
