Burger King Unveils 25th Store in Uyo, Fete Customers with Gifts, Meals

A global fast food giant, Burger King Nigeria, operating as Allied Foods and Confectionery Services at the weekend launched its first restaurant in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, creating opportunities for communities across Nigeria.





Located along Oron Road, the new outlet becomes the 25th Burger King location in Nigeria since the brand’s debut at Lagos in 2021.


The grand opening attracted guests and fun lovers who were treated to the company's unique taste and flavour amidst cultural display. Among the dignitaries present were the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Umo Eno on Entertainment, Mr David Sergeant, the Group Managing Director of Eliana Elios Hotel, Uyo Mr Paul Umanah and Mr Nsikak Essien, a Director in the State Ministry of Information.


Welcoming the guests, the Marketing Director for Allied Foods and Confectionery Services, Ms Lerato Makume shared insights into the decision to open in Akwa Ibom, while acknowledging the city’s energy and potential.


According to her, Burger King customers can order for their customized burger, ice cream and fries from the quick service restaurant and they will be delivered to them anywhere in Uyo.


In his remarks, Mr Moses Otegbayo, outlet's Chief Finance Officer said 

quick service restaurant with over 90,000 branches globally, had considered Nigeria as its next target, adding that they've never looked back four years after its debut in 2021.


Hinting that the restaurant cannot afford to miss Uyo, the Chief Finance Officer explained that Akwa Ibom is renowned for hospitality and her peaceful ambience, hence the need to expand "and in less than 4 years, we're opening our 25th restaurant in Uyo today".


According to him, the investment means more jobs for Akwa Ibom youth, increased tourism, and a stronger economic base for the community. He seized to opportunity to invite customers to patronize Burger King, while assuring them of the same great taste and standard they've maintained anywhere in the world.


Expressing their excitements to have Burger King in Uyo, the SSA to Governor Umo Eno on Entertainment, Mr David Sergeant and GMD, Eliana Elios Hotel, Mr Paul Umanah assured the management of the outlet of a peaceful and friendly environment that will encourage their business to thrive.


Also speaking, Mr Nsikak Essien, a Director with the State Ministry of Information said the restaurant's goals were in line with the Arise Agenda policies of Governor Umo Eno, as he assured them of a smooth working with the people and Government of Akwa Ibom State.
