IME OKON FULFILLS PROMISE, FURNISHES SIX-CLASSROOM BLOCK DONATED TO AYADEHE TECH COLLEGE

The Member representing Itu-Ibiono Ibom Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Ime Bassey Okon, has equipped the newly constructed six-classroom block facilitated and donated by him to Technical College, Ayadehe, Itu LGA, in fulfilment of the furnishing aspect of the project.

In a press statement over the weekend, the lawmaker said, "Though the furnishing of the classroom project, donated to the school earlier in the year, was to come later due to the procurement process, more needed to be done to ensure a better environment for the students. That is why I ensured electrical wiring and the installation of fans in those classrooms.

"I am an advocate of quality education. Therefore, we will continue to encourage quality learning using resources made available by my office to promote effective education at the grassroots."

Okon urged the students, teachers, and community members to protect the infrastructure and other amenities provided for their area so that development can thrive and be sustained.

In his response, the Principal of the School, Elder John Etim Bassey, appreciated the Federal Lawmaker for being a man of his word and ensuring the promise made to the students and Itu people was fulfilled earlier than the people expected. He prayed for the lawmaker's success as he continues to give effective representation to the people of Itu and Ibiono Ibom in the Green Chamber of the National Assembly.

Also, Mr. Donald Edet, a teacher at the school, could not contain his joy. "I want to say that the teachers, students, parents, and the entire community are very excited about the fulfilment of this aspect of the construction project of the six-classroom block by Rt. Hon. (Barr) Ime Bassey Okon.

"The furniture arrived earlier than we expected, considering the bureaucratic processes. We appreciate the Lawmaker for living up to his word and going the extra mile to ensure electrical wiring and the installation of fans in the classrooms were achieved.

"It is awesome because parents thought it was just a political statement to raise people's hopes, but in the end, the promise was fulfilled. Seeing this today, as a teacher, I would like to say thank you so much, Hon. Ime Okon. The teachers, students, and even the community are full of your praises. We are praying for you and your political ambition, which we are convinced is for the good of the people. We will continue to pray for you. Your ambition will never stop halfway."
