Helicopter Crash: PDP Expresses Shock...We're Safe Says Osinbajo

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expressed shock over the crash of the helicopter carrying Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, in Kabba, Kogi state, today,Saturday
In a release signed by the Party's National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan the Party thanked God for the safety of Vice President Osinbajo, members of his entourage and the crew. 
"The party however called for a thorough investigation into the traumatic incident adding that the safety of our leaders, and of course, all Nigerians, must be guaranteed, especially at this critical time.
The PDP also urged  all Nigerians irrespective of creed, ethnicity and political affiliation, to continue to pray for God’s continued intervention in the country's national life.
However, the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has said that he alongside other occupants of the Chopper carrying to Kogi State were safe and sound.
In a statement by his spokesperson, Laolu Akande in Abuja yesterday, Osinbajo, expressed thanks to Nigerians for their concern in the chopper incident which happened in Kabba, Kogi State.
Akande said that Prof. Osinbajo after the mishap continued his engagements in the State, engaging the people on the Next Level plan of the Buhari administration.
He quoted the Vice President as saying, “We are safe and sound. Thank you to everyone who has expressed concern, and thank you to the crew who managed and the situation well.
“We believe that God will continue to keep us and Nigeria safe even as we go higher. We continue Next level engagements in Kabba, Kogi State.”
Speaking at the Obaro of Kabba’s Palace, his first stop in his visit to the State, Osinbajo expressed gratitude to God for the deliverance from the Chopper crash.
He added, “We are extremely grateful to the Lord for preserving our lives from the incident that just happened. Everyone is safe and no one is maimed. God has kept us safe and alive, delivered us from death so we can do more for our people and country.”
It will be recalled that the Saturday incident was the second time Mr Osinbajo’s helicopter would crash-land.
In June 2017, he survived a similar accident when the chopper he was traveling in crash-landed shortly after take off in Gwagawalada, Abuja.
He was in the area council to attend the graduation of 40 senior officers of the Nigeria Customs Service.

AKIRS secures N1.2b judgement against Ardent Energy Services LTD ....warns against tax evasion

  The Akwa Ibom State Internal Revenue Service (AKIRS) has secured a landmark judgement against Ardent Energy Services Ltd, an oil servicing company operating in Akwa Ibom State. In a judgement delivered on July 3, 2025 at the Revenue Court of Akwa Ibom State, Uyo, by the Presiding Revenue Judge, Maureen-Idongesit M. Udoka, the court ordered the defendant to pay to the Akwa Ibom State Government, the sum of N1.2bilion, including penalty and interest on the principal sum.  The judgement was in consequence to Suit No. Rue/77C/2022, filed by AKIRS. With this judgement, which is a major milestone in AKIRS tax compliance drive, the agency warns taxpayers to willingly comply to their civic obligations of always paying their taxes as and when due as there was no hiding place for defaulters.
