Bashir Makama has been sent as a the new commissioner of Police Akwa Ibom State, replacing Musa Kimo who was recently elevated to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police.
Until his new posting, the new Akwa Ibom CP was the Commissioner of Police, Kwara State command and had served as Police Commissioner in Benue State.
Makama joined the Force as a cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police, where he served virtually in all the departments.
He held the position of Police Public Relations Officer, Operation officer, Divisional Police Officer in several Divisions in Lagos and other states, Area Commander in Suleja and Port Harcourt.
The Akwa Ibom new Police boss hails from Jos, the Plateau State capital. He was among the seven pioneer U.K trained community policing officers.
He is a graduate of Bayero University where he studied Sociology. He also bagged Masters degree in Law and Criminal Jurisprudence in same institution.
