The Akwa Ibom State Petroleum Product Monitoring Committee (PPMC), led by the Chairman Hon Godwin Ekpo, has taken to the streets of Uyo to monitor fueling activities at various filling stations to ensure Major marketers are selling .
This move comes amid the planned withdrawal of services by the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) scheduled for today. The PPMC aims to ensure that the withdrawal does not negatively impact the masses in Akwa Ibom State.
Despite the looming threat of service withdrawal by IPMAN, some filling stations in the Uyo Metropolis including Oriflamme, Fynefield at Aka Road, and NNPC along Atiku, Total at Abak road, AA Rano at Calabar Itu highway, NNPC Calabar Itu highway, NNPC opposite Shelter Afrique estate and NNPC Mbiabong are dispensing fuel.
The enforcement has yielded a positive impact as some major marketers including Shafa at Atiku, A.A Rano Abak road, Nepal Idoro road, AP Ikot Ekpene road, NNPC Itam, that were locked are now selling.
