UNITY PROJECT CAMPAIGN ORG. CELEBRATES PRINCIPAL'S BIRTHDAY IN STYLE..Offset medical bills of newly born babies, discharged patients & share hampers to elderly citizens

 



As part of activities to celebrate the year 2025 birthday of the member representing Uyo/Uruan/Nsit Atai/Ibesikpo Asutan Federal Constituency, Rep Rep. Mark Esset, yesterday, August 21st, 2025, the Unity Project Campaign Organisation took the initiative to embark on visits to hospital and homes of elderly citizens.


The team, which was led by the Director General of the Unity Project Campaign Organization, Mr Ubong Amamkpa, visited the Baby Nursery Unit of the St. Luke's Hospital, Anua Offot, Uyo LGA were they offset the medical bills and procure the discharge from hospital of 2 young mothers who put to bed through Cesarean Section (CS) and could not afford the bills, both accumulating to over half a million naira.




They also visited the Male and the Female Surgical Wards of the same hospital where bills of 5 patients (surgical operations) were offset, accumulating to over a million naira.


The team later proceeded to visit random homes of elderly citizens across Uyo, Uruan, Nsit Atai and Ibesikpo Asutan LGAs, where they gave out birthday hampers containing foodstuffs, beverages, wrappers and cash in celebration of their Principal - Rep Mark Esset.


Not fewer than 25 individuals (most in their 60s and above) across the 4 local government areas that constitute Uyo Federal Constituency, received a well packaged hampers and cash gifts.


The visibly elated beneficiaries of both the cleared medical expenses and the birthday hampers expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Almighty God for using the birthday celebrant to touch their lives positively.


In solemnity of praises, they individually prayed to the Almighty God to grant Rep. Mark Esset, his wife, Dr. Dorcas Esset & family, and as well, the entire Campaign Organization members good health, prosperous life, success in his future endeavours, long live and God's protection, going forward.


In the same vein, the medical personnel in charge of the diverse wards collectively thanked the Organisation for the kind humanitarian services, on behalf of their principal, to those vulnerable patients who after receiving medical attention, could not pay the medical bills and be discharged.


Later in the evening, the team, with the massive support of the Executive Chairman of Nsit Atai LGA, Hon. Prince Anthony Nyong and other political figures, converged at the Osongama Estate resident of the celebrant to celebrate the man that they described as a worthy #MarkOfEffectiveRepresentation of his constituents.


Special birthday eulogies and wishes led by the Executive Chairman of Nsit Atai LGA, Prince Anthony Nyong; Leader of Nsit Atai Legislature, Hon. Ubong Udoeyo; Director General of Unity Project Campaign Organization, Mr. Ubong Amamkpa; Secretary of Campaigns, Hon. Tony Asikpo; Spokesman of the Campaigns, Etubom David Jackson; youth representatives, women representatives - were poured on the celebrant 


A cross section of political office holders and political stakeholders from the 4 local government areas converge to celebrate their representative while praying the Almighty God to grant him more enablement to continue to dole out effective representation to his constituents.

Improved Working Conditions For Teachers In Rural Areas Underway As AKHA Advocates Provision Of Live-In Quarters

Secondary school teachers posted to rural areas in the State would have a sigh of relief as lawmakers of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly has advocated to the State Government for the provision of live-in quarters to reduce the burden of transportation and solve issues of accomodation.  This was sequel to a report presented to the House by the Chairman House Committee on Education, Hon. Kenim Onofiok during Plenary today. Hon.
